Budget tablet market has the highest share in the tablet market not because of the affordability but also value for money features. One player that has served this segment of smart technology with diversity is Simmtronics. This Indian multinational computer technology company entered the tablet market in 2012 and claimed the world’s most affordable tabs of that time. In its tab section, Simmontrics has added another beauty i.e. Xpad mini. This slate, with Business Suite, is especially designed for corporate and business purposes.
The company that already has XPAD-XQ1, XPAD X-722, XPAD X720, XPAD 801, XPAD X1010 and XPAD 802 tablets in its XPAD tablet portfolio, has enhanced it with this new baby. Said to be inspired by Ipad mini, Xpad mini has looks and unibody design similar to Apple Ipad Mini. The front with no home button, the bezel size and the camera placement also shows resemblance with Ipad Mini. And the rear metal panel is same as Ipad Mini. So the similarity in name…???Let’s not talk about it. I think that will be too much.
Design is secondary when it comes to specs and features. Xpad mini runs Android4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered with 1 GHz quad core processor. The tab has 1 GB DDR3 RAM. There is a 5 MP primary camera and a 2 MP secondary camera with video recording and zoom facility. The tab sports 7.85 inch HD Capacitive IPS Touchscreen Display with 1024 x 768 pixels. Xpad Mini has 8 GB of internal memory and supports expendable memory up to 32 GB using microSD. The 4000mAh battery powers the entire package.
For a price tag of Rs. 9299, Simmtronics Xpad Mini is quite decent.
