Say Hello! to the A TIV Q. Samsung in its recent unveiling of new products in London, has announced the 13.3″ monster sized tablet. And by the looks of it, it is set to eat the other biggies out of the competition. Here is a look at why I think it might do so.
The Asus Transformer AiO launched in India last month is a dual OS tablet PC. But a quick look at what the A TIV Q has to offer pushes the AiO into the shadows. The A TIV Q has a fully functioning Windows 8 (and not RT) OS that can be switched with a Android v4.2 at the push of a button. Files can easily be transferred from Windows to Android mode and Apps like the Angry birds Star wars can be easily played with on the Windows platform. No other Tablet PC can boast of such an efficient dual OS functionality.
But that’s not all. The A TIV Q boasts of a 3200 x 1800 (275 ppi) resolution, 13.3″ display that will blow your mind. Few tablets come even close to such a high quality screen display.
But the best part I find is that all this is not just for the show. It actually is a true replacement for the laptop. A multi jointed detachable QWERTY keyboard has been provided that can be moved very well at a number of angles to allow slide show presentations and working angles.
Samsung seems to have pulled out all stops in making this beauty.
A now traditional feature of all Samsung devices is the Stylus Pen and A TIV Q is no exception.
It also includes what Samsung calls the SideSync feature, that allows users to respond to ‘synced’ smartphones through the tab itself. No need to bother checking your phone again and again for updates or viewing pics and videos. All that can be done right from the keyboard of the tab on the 13.3″ screen. Now how about that.
Apart from this, the LCD screen is capable of auto adjusting to light settings so that even in the outdoors you can have a reflection free crystal clear display in front of you.
The 720 p camera, 9 hour battery life will not let you down.
So, what kind of hardware is needed to give such brilliant features. Well, the Intel Core i5 processor that powers the device gives a 1.6 GHz speed and is backed up with a Intel Graphics 4400. That explains a lot. Add to it a 4GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage capacity. Phew! that’s one high powered tablet there for you.
When will it be launched in India and at what price? Well, Samsung has not revealed that at the presentation that was held on June 20 in London, which also featured that launch of the new Samsung Galaxy camera NS. However, unconfirmed reports speculate that the A TIV Q and its smaller 10.1″ twin the A TIV 3 could be launched for upwards of Rs 90,000 somewhere around August end this year. But i guess, we’ll have to just wait and watch.
For any comments, suggestions or advice, feel free to comment and i’ll surely get back to you. Keep watching this space for the A TIV 3 review and specs as well. Exciting time lie ahead i must say.
