Lenovo A1000L is their latest addition to A1000 series at a price tag of Rs 6999 as currently listed on flipkart. The A1000 series is the introductory and affordable line-up of tablets available from Lenovo. It runs on Mediatek’s 1 GHz MT8317 Dual Core Processor with Android 4.1 Jellybean. For now, black colour is the only available option. It has 7 inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. There is only one camera which is front-facing at 0.3 MP. Internal memory is around 8 GB with microSD slot for memory expansion. Other features include front-facing speaker, accelerometer, wi-fi, microUSB connectivity with USB OTG compatibility etc.
Under the Rs 10k bracket for tablets, Micromax has been the frontrunner for quite some time now. Players like Karbonn, Lava, DOMO, HCL, Lenovo or Datawind (of Aakash’s fame) have been trying hard to pose a worthy challenge to dominance of Micromax, but in vain.

The Downside :
Its predecessor, Idea Tab A1000, sports a number a features that are not there in A1000L given the fact that it is available for nearly the same price. A few are listed below :
1. A slightly faster processor clocked at 1.2 GHz
2. IPS display with 5 point multi-touch
3. GSM SIM slot (2G)
4. 1 GB DDR2 RAM
5. Bluetooth connectivity
6. Dual Front Facing Speaker with Dolby Digital Plus sound enhancement
It is difficult to comprehend as to what drove Lenovo to market a tab with comparatively inferior configuration at this price. Nevertheless, if you are not a hardcore user and someone who just wants use a tablet without much hassle and complicated functionality, these configurations will be fine. But then again, why shell out that much money? So we’ll see a few possible options for you. May be one even with better configuration but at a lower price!
