Released in the summer of 2012, iberry’s AUXUS AX02 was the first tablet featuring Android 4.0.3 in a tablet. With support for Indian Languages in its browser, this tablet, now priced at Rs 9990 should be in your checklist if you are looking for a budget tablet.
With a 7 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen having a resolution of 400 x 800 resolution, the display is as normal and common as any other budget tablet. Its stand-out feature is its OS: Android 4.0, a very good improvement considering most tablets of this segment provide Android 2.3.
It also has a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP(VGA) camera. Connecting to the internet is possible using WiFi as well as a USB dongle. The lack of Bluetooth, however, makes file sharing a difficult affair.

What’s great:
- This tablet now comes at a price of Rs. 7990, packed with Android 4.0.3, a feature which most tablets lack in this category
- The LCD screen gives a wider angle view, add to it its capacitive touchscreen.
- This tablet supports connecting to a TV via HDMI port to watch 3D movies, another exciting feature
What disappoints:
- The biggest disappointment is the absence of Bluetooth, so look out for other options for multi-player gaming and file-transfer
- The tablet also does not have a SIM slot, so you cannot SMS or phone call using this
- The video quality of the camera could have been better
- The display, though LCD, lacks brightness
